of the Year 2000 |

Bro. Sam Centellas was one of the hardest working
Brothers in the attempt to work towards our chapter
status. He lead the charge as we stormed IFC and
started to make a bigger name for us on campus.

Bro.
Rudy Martinez was the selected for being a great
Brother. His dedication to the Brotherhood was unparalleled
this year. He stepped up and took on many extra
responsibilities this year and helped the chapter
a lot. |

Bro.
Gary Galvan has been a great Brother, both in business
and socially. Gary is good to hangout with, and
also gets things done in the business meetings.
Gary is now the President and will lead our fraternity
to another great year. |

Victor Rivera has been involved and active for four
years and always worked to better the chapter, Latino
affairs at WMU and our community. This was his last
year before graduation and he was the coordinator
for our large fall concert. |

Brother Achievement Scholarship - Bro. Sam Centellas:
At the scholarship luncheon Sam was part of the
first round of Brothers to win this award.

Best Website: We won best website out of all our
chapters and colonies. Our site is constantly updated,
many features and has tons of visitors... not too
mention all the pictures we had on it!

Academic Chapter - Setting the bar not only at WMU,
but nationally. Our academic programs ensured our
Brothers were successful in school and working towards
graduation.

nomination, Bro. Sam Centellas, was named to the
1999 Western Michigan University Homecoming Court.
He attended all of the homecoming activities representing
for the Betas, he even got to be on the field at
half-time of the big game.

New Member GPA: Our first ever award from
the Interfraternity Council was given to the
LSDN Line for having the highest GPA of all
new fraternity members into the Greek Community.

the awards. Our first year applying for the
award, and our first year receiving. Not to

September 2001: We worked with the Annual Fiesta
in the Park and ran the youth tables. Participated
in the United States Hispanic Leadership Conference,
and started our annual clothes drive for migrant
families.

Summer 2002: One of the few chapters that continues
involvement and constant activities over the summer.

September 2002: Our concert set the bar for large
event programming at WMU with not only fraternities
but all student organizations.

October 2002: What can we say.. when you are on
a roll you are on a roll. Our programming with NPHC
and IFC together created a lot of momentum with
the university.

CAB Excellence in Programming - Best Event Series
Programming: Beta Week 2000 won us this award. We
had some exciting and very well attended events. It
is nice to be recognized for great programming from
the Campus Activities Board (CAB).

CAB Best Organization Website: Bro. Sam Centellas
has worked very hard on this site and we are proud
that it is considered the best student organization
site at Western.

Organization of the Year Finalist: Three finalist
out of 300+ organizations, and we were one of them.
We where not selected as the organization of the year
but this a great start, and a place to build some
tradition.

CLDP got us the award this year. This event, which
we cosponsored with Sigma Lambda Gamma had most of
the universities top administrators involved and was
very successful.

This year our nomination was a finalist. A great honor
since only three finalist are chosen out of all the
students that apply.

CAB Excellence in Programming- Best New Event: Words
de mi Alma. Our Latino Poetry night was a great event,
with one of the biggest turnouts we have had for an
event.

CAB Best Organization Website: Another year... this
makes it three in a row! What else can we say about
this, except keep checking the site as we make it
better and better every year.

Organization of the Year Finalist: Three finalist
out of 300+ organizations and once again we are there.
We did not win this year either, but being a consistent
finalist means we are working hard and showing this
university our principles.

Leader of the Year Finalist - Bro. Sam Centellas:
Like our organization of the year nomination, we make
it to the final selection but can not win the award.
Sam had another great year with the chapter and we
will miss him as he graduated and moves to GVSU for
Grad school.

of Omega |

Brother
Sam Centellas became the first Epsilon Chapter
Beta to be initiated into the Order during the Fall
2000 semester. This honorary society only accepts
the top 3% of all Greeks. This will become the building
block for more Brothers to become members.
During
the Winter 2002 semester we got the honor again,
not for one but two more Brothers. On March 27th,
2002 Brothers Orlando Rodriguez and Gary
Galvan were both initiated.
Winter
2004 we had one more Brother initiated into the
Order of Omega. Brother Ismael Vargas
became a member and also joined the executive board.
