:: Our Foundation
Sigma Lambda Beta is a social fraternity founded in 1986 at
the University of Iowa. Our fundamental
values are based on cultural understanding and wisdom. We believe in the
principles of fairness, opportunity, and in the equality of all men regardless
of race, culture, and ethnicity. It is
our goal and obligation to relay the importance of these three principles to
our community, country and the world.
In order to achieve these goals we strive to model these behaviors and
present ourselves in a gentlemanly and educated fashion.
The Santa Clara University chapter prides itself in its
social and cultural programming. We have
made significant contributions to society since our establishment. Most notable was our Tijuana Immersion trip
which started in March of 2000 and has been graciously adopted by the
University. Currently, we are involved
with the annual SCU Posadas event which brings the SCU community together and
promotes cultural awareness. We are also involved with fundraising to support
charities such as Estrella Services and Relay for Life. In addition, our chapter co-hosts campus
tours for underprivileged children and teenagers to promote higher education.
