Bro. Beau Scott selected to Panetta Institute 2017 Congressional Internship Program

Bro. Beau Scott of the Psi Alpha Chapter (Santa Clara Univ.) has been selected to the Panetta Institute 2017 Congressional Internship Program.

Bro. Beau, along with 23 other interns from the state of California, will be studying in Washington D.C., this upcoming Fall.

The 11-week program in Washington, D.C., selects one student from 24 universities in California. Bro. Beau, along with 23 other interns, will be placed in an office of a congressman from California congressional delegation.

Bro. Beau, who is a sophomore political science and philosophy major, will be going to D.C. as Santa Clara University’s representative. “I’m trying to get as much knowledge as I can to help my community”, said Beau.

“Public policy has been something that I have been interested in and I am looking forward to the experience and applying it to my career after graduation”, he added.

According to Panetta Institute’s website, “Studies continue when the students move to Washington. In addition to their work in congressional offices, participants attend weekly seminars on policy issues and different aspects of government.”

The program itself is an opportunity for interns to get a firsthand look at the legislative process by working in a congressional office in Washington, D.C. Additionally, interns will receive academic credit towards their education.

After graduation, Bro. Beau is planning on going to law school and possibly studying environmental law.

Congrats to Bro. Beau Scott and good luck in Capitol Hill!
