EXECUTIVE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
The Executive Board of Directors is the elected national leadership of Sigma Lambda Beta. Comprised of five board members and a Chairman, they are responsible for long term organization strategy, financial policies, and act with the best interest of the Fraternity in mind.
The Executive Office is comprised of Sigma Lambda Beta’s paid staff members. Our staff members handle the day-to-day business of the Fraternity. The Executive Office works with collegiate entities in their operations, offices of Fraternity and Sorority Life, and other stakeholders.
REGIONAL DIRECTOR'S CAUCUS
The Regional Director's Caucus is comprised of nine volunteers representing each region of Sigma Lambda Beta. The Regional Director is responsible for assembling his Regional Board of Directors which helps oversea entity operations in their respective region.
EXECUTIVE BOARD OF DIRECTORS
Brother Roberto joined Sigma Lambda Beta 9/9/1995 at the Upsilon Chapter at Purdue University Northwest and is a veteran of the United States Army Reserve. As a student, Brother Roberto would go on to complete a B.A. in Political Science from Purdue University Northwest and a B.S. in Justice Studies from Arizona State University. Professionally Roberto works at Youth Guidance as a Regional Manager for the B.A.M. (Becoming A Man) program that works with inner-city youth. In addition to being the current Chair of Sigma Lambda Beta, Brother Roberto is an active member with the Upsilon Alumni Network, the Sigma Lambda Beta Military Alumni Network, a Lifetime Member of the Chicago Alumni Network, and an 86 Club Member. Roberto resides in Chicago. He is the son of Roberto & Norma Ceballos and the proud father of Roberto & Hector Ceballos.
MAURICIO M AMARAL-VAZQUEZ
Brother Mauricio Amaral-Vázquez joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 7/17/2009 at The Terrible Tau Chapter, CSU Dominguez Hills. As a student, Brother Mauricio would go on to complete a two Bachelors Degrees in English Literature and Journalism from CSU Dominguez Hills, and a Masters in Urban Education from Loyola Marymount University. Professionally, Brother Mauricio is an educator and community organizer currently working in the EdTech Nonprofit sector at Black Girls CODE and Teach for America. Mauricio resides in Oakland, CA with his Dog and chosen family.
Brother Christopher Cooley joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 08/12/2011 at the Chi Delta Chapter, Mississippi State University. As a student, Brother Christopher would go on to complete a BS, in Wildlife, Fisheries, and Aquaculture Sciences from Mississippi State University in 2013. Professionally, Christopher works for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service as a Refuge Manager. Christopher resides in the Southeastern US. Prior to serving on the EBOD, Brother Christopher served as the Southeast Regional Director from 2015-2020.
Brother Victor joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 11/28/2015 at the Chi Beta Chapter, Arizona State University. As a student, Brother Victor would go on to complete a BA in Psychology with a minor in Organizational Leadership as well as an M.Ed in Higher & Postsecondary Education from Arizona State University. Professionally, Victor works in the student affairs field at the University of Southern California as he plans to pursue his Ed.D. Victor currently resides in the Los Angeles area with his 2-year-old pet cat.
Brother Steve Galvan joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 6/18/2004 at Western Michigan University. As a student, Brother Steve attended Kalamazoo Valley Community College Associates of Arts degree. He continued his studies at Western Michigan University where he earned Bachelor’s degree in History (Social Studies) with an emphasis in Secondary Education, and a Master’s degree from Ferris State University in Curriculum and Instruction-Administrative Distinction. Professionally, Brother Steve has been a high school social studies educator for over fifteen years at Hartford High School in Hartford, MI where he currently also coaches football and softball. Brother Steve resides in Hartford, MI with his wife Melissa, and children Jaelyne Mya, Gianni Luis, and Nico Elias.
JORGE PÉREZ DE JESÚS
Brother Jorge "Cemí" joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 12/7/1996 at Beta Chapter, Western Illinois University (WIU). In 2018 he also had the distinct honor of being inducted into the Alpha Alpha Chapter of Purdue University. As a student, Brother Cemí would go on to complete a B.A. with a double major in Spanish and History from WIU, and master's degrees from North Park University and Purdue University, respectively. Professionally Jorge retired from school teaching and the U.S. Army. Currently, he is continuing his education by pursuing a doctorate degree in Latin American literature from Purdue University. He resides in Indiana and is the proud father of a daughter that will soon graduate from college.
Brother James “Terrónez” Terronez joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 4/11/1996 at Xi Chapter, the University of Illinois at Chicago. As a student, Brother James would go on to complete a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from St. Ambrose University. Professionally, James works for Fair Oaks Foods as a Supply Chain Manager. He has 4 boys (1 legacy), 1 daughter, and a granddaughter who reside in the Quad Cities. James resides in Woodstock, IL, with his girlfriend and her son.
Brother Richard joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 12/21/2012 at the Psi Beta Chapter, Wayne State University. As a student, Brother Richard would go on to complete a B.S. in Information Systems Management. Professionally, Richard works as a Business Analyst for an international commercial restate company. Richard resides in Detroit, MI.
EDWIN O. MARTINEZ VELASQUEZ
Brother Edwin joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 05/01/2010 at Omicron Chapter, at Iowa State University. As a student, Brother Edwin would go on to complete a B.S. in Computer Engineering from Iowa State University, and pursuing an M.S. in Human Computer Interaction from Iowa State University. Professionally, Edwin is a software engineer with experience in gaming and consulting spaces. Edwin resides in Des Moines, Iowa with his wife and two dogs.
Brother Boli Bencosme joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 05/04/2013 at Chi Chapter, Pace University-NYC. As a student, Brother Boli would go on to complete a BBA in Accounting from Pace University. Professionally, Boli is a budget analyst working with the states of New York and New Jersey. Boli resides in the Bronx, NY, and is the first member of his family to graduate from college. It is in this respect that Boli continually serves as a positive influence for his five siblings and extended family in the Dominican Republic.
Brother Arick joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 03/14/2015 at the Pi Gamma Chapter of Eastern Washington University. As a student, Brother Arick would go on to complete a BA in Sociology and an MPA from Eastern Washington University. Professionally, Arick works for a nonprofit where he facilitates two youth advocacy groups that work with homeless and foster youth. Arick resides in Cheney, WA with his wife and son.
Brother Jacob Veloz joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 05/06/2016 at Epsilon Beta, Texas Tech University. As a student, Brother Jacob would go on to complete a B.A. in English from Texas Tech University, and a J.D. from Oklahoma City University School of Law. Jacob resides between Norman, Oklahoma or Fort Worth, Texas.
Brother Johnny joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 11/16/2014 at Gamma Gamma Chapter, The University of Central Florida. As a student, Brother Johnny would go on to complete a BS in Sports & Exercise Science from The University of Central Florida. Professionally, Johnny is an Environmental Health Specialist at the Kennedy Space Center assisting with the protection and prevention of employees from health hazards. Johnny resides in Orlando with his Fiance.
Brother Javier Ibarra joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 4/18/2014 at the Xi Delta Chapter, Metropolitan State University of Denver. As a student, Brother Javier would go on to complete a B.S. in Business Management with a concentration in Entrepreneurship from Metropolitan State University of Denver. Professionally, Javier works for the Colorado State Department of Education as the Communications Manager. Javier lives in Denver with his two dogs and is currently engaged.
Brother Eled Herrera joined Sigma Lambda Beta on 03/13/2010 at the Theta Alpha Chapter, University of California, Irvine. As a student, Brother Eled would go on to complete a BA, in Criminology/ Law and Society from the University of California, Irvine, and a Master's degree from California State University, Long Beach in Public Administration/ Public Policy. Professionally, Eled is a School Business Operations Manager for KIPP SoCal. Eled resides in the Los Angeles Area. Eled is serving his 5th of 6th years as Regional Director for the West Region.
