Bro. Saul Solis Raising Cultural Awareness through Aztec Dance Tradition

Anybody who follows Brother Saul can easily see his passion for spreading Aztec culture and tradition through dance performances. Bro. Saul has been a member of Danza Azteca Tonatiuh for several years now. The meaning of his Aztec group is “Movement of the Sun.”

Brother Saul Solis truly exemplifies what it means to live a life committed to spreading cultural awareness through educational outreach activities beyond academia. Brother Saul crossed in the Spring of 2007 as one of the Founding Brothers for the Tau Gamma chapter at Boise State University. Some of his professional endeavors include his profession as a software consultant, national board of director for the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE), and currently serves as the Assistant Regional Director of Operations for the Northwest Region of Sigma Lambda Beta.

Anybody who follows Brother Saul can easily see his passion for spreading Aztec culture and tradition through dance performances. Bro. Saul has been a member of Danza Azteca Tonatiuh for several years now. The meaning of his Aztec group is “Movement of the Sun.” According to Brother Saul, this meaning suits the group perfectly because they too are looking to make a movement in their communities. Bro. Saul and his group not only perform traditional Aztec dances, they also give talks and presentations on the importance of respecting culture and tradition in order to foster an environment of inclusion in today’s world.

The group use their dances as a means to project positive energy to their crowds and they always follow up with sharing how we can all start learning more about other cultures if we embrace the talent and uniqueness that many underrepresented groups bring to the table. Danza Azteca Tonatiuh participates in community and private events throughout the year at parks, churches, parades, retirement centers, and cultural events.

Brother Saul’s passion for continually serving as an advocate and role model for his community through sharing the gift of Aztec dance and culture serves as an example to our Brotherhood. Brother Saul is a testimony of how much we as a Beta Nation can enrich our communities, country, and the world if we strive to touch lives through our personal endeavors; one person at a time.
