The Executive Office of Sigma Lambda Beta is excited to announce the appointment of Justin Winkel as Director of Education having started on the 1st of October 2018. Mr. Winkel graduated from Iowa State University with a Master of Science in Education (7/2018) in the Social Foundations of Higher Education. He also earned his B.F.A., in Integrated Studio Arts at Iowa State (7/2013).
During his graduate work at Iowa State, Justin served as the Community Adviser for the APIDA* Community (*Asian Pacific Islander Desi American) for two years. Justin has also been conducting leadership and identity workshops for Asian American and other multicultural communities throughout the Midwest and at institutions as diverse as the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and the University of Iowa.
Justin has an extensive understanding of Multicultural Greek Council Fraternities as a Brother of Pi Alpha Phi National Fraternity, Inc., Asian Interest Fraternity. Dovetailing with his academic and Fraternity history is Justin’s ongoing workshops focused on Leadership and Identity for Asian Americans and other multicultural populations. In addition, Justin enjoys a strong background in academic support for multicultural populations.
